Major Andre McConnahea

Major Andre McConnahea began his Law Enforcement career in 2004 as a part-time Patrolman with the Spencerville Police Department. In 2005, he was hired as a Deputy Dog Warden by Allen County, and as an Auxiliary Sheriff’s Deputy by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.

In January 2007, he was hired as a fulltime Deputy Sheriff by Allen County. McConnahea worked on every shift in the Patrol Division before being promoted to Patrol Corporal in 2015. While in the Patrol Division, McConnahea worked as a Field Training Officer, Highway Interdiction Officer and a SWAT Team Officer. He obtained a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Leadership and Criminal Justice Administration in 2012, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Northwestern Ohio in 2016. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2017 and soon thereafter was assigned to the new position of Public Information Officer Administrative Lieutenant for the Sheriff’s Office and Allen County Emergency Management Agency.

McConnahea was promoted to Captain in December of 2019 and Major in January of 2021. McConnahea also currently serves as the Sheriff Office’s Terrorism Liaison Officer to the State of Ohio and as an Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy certified Defensive Tactics Instructor.
