This year millions of children around the world will benefit from DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education). Deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office have taught the DARE program since 1991.
The D.A.R.E. Program is a ten week program teaching kids the dangers of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. We learn how to make good decisions, how to handle peer pressure, and why friends and family are so important. Currently, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office provides five (5) different instructional programs from pre-kindergarten through seventh grade.
The D.A.R.E. Program offers two summer camps for the youth of Allen County.
For the Dare camp applications click here.
The D.A.R.E. program also offers free photo/DNA identification cards throughout Allen County for parents to keep. The cards are wallet-sized with the child’s picture and DNA, in the unfortunate event that a child is missing this card is extremely helpful to law enforcement as they work to locate a child.
