West Central Ohio Crime Task Force

The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force was formed in 1989 in order to help fight the war on drugs in Allen County, Ohio.

The Task Force is a pro-active law enforcement unit that operates mostly with federal and state grant money.

The current task force is made up of officers from Allen County and Van Wert County, including officers from Lima Police Department, Delphos Police Department, and Ohio State Highway Patrol. This unit frequently works with local and federal agencies to combat drug crimes in the Lima, Allen County and Van Wert county area.

This office not only investigates drug activity but can also present public information talks to your community, civic, or school assemblies on drug related topics.

Investigators swore out 58 total search warrants for various types of investigations related to narcotics. During these investigations, a total of $175,656.00 U.S. currency were seized. These monies are then divided among the participating agencies and assist in the continued pursuit of drug trafficking in our communities. Additionally, 55 firearms were removed from residences, vehicles, and persons during these investigations. Narcotics investigations led to numerous cases being presented to the Allen County Grand Jury resulting in 155 felony indictments.
