Chief Deputy Todd Mohler

Chief Mohler is a lifelong resident of Allen County. He is a 1988 graduate of Lima Temple Christian. Mohler and his wife, Tara, have lived in the American Township area most of their lives, where Chief Mohler’s father, Lynn, is a Township Trustee. Chief Mohler has two daughters and a son. He has worked in most divisions throughout the Sheriff’s Office during his 28 year career, and has been an instrumental part of several specialty teams.

Chief Mohler has worked on every patrol shift, was an investigator for the Narcotics Task Force, and a member of the Selective Enforcement Team. Chief Mohler has been a member of the Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, Bike Patrol, Range Instructor and S.W.A.T. Team. He spent 20 years as a S.W.A.T. Team Officer and reached the position of Team Commander before retiring from the team in 2017.

He is one of the few officers that have ever assisted a mother in delivering a child while on patrol. Chief Mohler was promoted to Patrol Corporal in 2012, Patrol Sergeant in 2014, to Lieutenant in 2017, to Major in 2018, and to Chief in December of 2020. Currently Chief Mohler oversees department operations.
