Ralph Stanford Marshall served as the 13th sheriff of Allen County from 1935 to 1937.
Sheriff Marshall was a motorcycle dealer and a board track racer. He also owned Marshall Sporting Goods which was located on Main in Lima. He raced a 1912 Thor motorcycle and owned it until 1980 when he donated it to the Allen County Historical Society.
He was also an Olympian. Sheriff Marshall competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics in the 50-meter pistol competition representing Lima Rifle & Revolver Club. He had an overall score of 505 after six rounds of competition and placed 33rd out of 43 shooters from 19 nations. He placed 3rd out of the three shooters representing the United States.
